Alma R
Posey
Sep 10, 1930 — Jun 24, 2026
Alma Ruth Posey, 95, of Deland, Florida, passed away peacefully and entered her Lord’s presence on June 24, 2026, at the Villa Health and Rehab Center, in DeLand. Born on September 10, 1930, in Oneida, Tennessee, the daughter and only child of Samson and Dena Ross, Alma Ruth was a woman of remarkable character whose steady kindness, enduring strength, and deep faith in Jesus, touched all who knew her.
Throughout her ninety-five years, Alma Ruth witnessed, prayed for, and contributed to the changing world around her with quiet grace. Her journey began in the rolling hills of Tennessee, where she was raised among family and friends who admired her gentle spirit, tenacity, deep love for her Saviour, Jesus Christ, and compassion for others. These early years shaped the foundation of her values—honesty, respect, and an enduring faith in her Savior.
As the years unfolded and circumstances changed, Alma Ruth adapted with resilience and humility. She created a life in Florida, finding warmth in the sunshine and fellowship among neighbors and friends. Alma Ruth was a prayer warrior for those she encountered and loved. She cherished the simple joys of life—quiet afternoons, stories recalled from her youth, and meaningful conversations of her Heavenly home and Savior that brought light to ordinary days.
Those privileged to know Alma Ruth will remember her for her tenacity, kindness, dignity, and steadfast faith in Jesus. Her legacy continues in the values she instilled and the warmth she brought into every room. She leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever.
Alma Ruth is survived by her eldest son Ronald and his wife, Deborah of Hayes, Virginia; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many dedicated caregivers and friends, especially her close friend, Susie Brown. Her husband, Homer and youngest son, Frederick, preceded her in entering the gates of Heaven.
A memorial service to honor Alma Ruth’s life will be held on July 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona Beach, located at 1423 Bellevue Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Alma Ruth are invited to come together in remembrance and gratitude for her remarkable life.
Alma’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who love her. May she rest in peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior as she is welcomed into her Heavenly Home.
