Obituary

Alvargo Quiroga, 74, lost his fight with ALS December 16, 2017. Alvaro was born in Havana, Cuba in 1943 and came to the United States in 1962, where he became a U.S. Citizen. He was predeceased by his mother, Maria Dolores Banzo; his father, Dario Quiroga, Sr; and, two of his three brothers, Oscar Quiroga and Dario Quiroga, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Cristina Quiroga; his brother, George Quiroga; daughters, Christina Quiroga Stein (husband Randy) and Ann Ryan; his grandson, Ryan Goytil; his uncle Nicanor Quiroga; and, many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his "adopted" daughters, Suzanne Moody and Carrie Santana. He was an accomplished man throughout his life and career. He worked at Liberty Plastics, where he made the first Barbie torso. He was a plant manager for Playskool (Hasbro) and Director of Manufacturing for Emulex. He was loved by many because of his kind and loving manner. He judged no one.
