Barry Dean Goings, 72, of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, in Halifax Hospice Care Center in Edgewater.
Barry was born on November 11th, 1951, in Cheverly, Maryland, the son of Buren Haywood Goings, Sr., and Carolyn Elizabeth Kutz. He was a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service before retiring in 2007. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Air Force as a Policeman, rising to the rank of Sergeant.
He played softball and bowled for many years, even bowling a perfect 300. He was also an avid fan of the late NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt and the Washington Redskins.
He was preceded in death by his father Buren Haywood Goings, Sr, mother Carolyn Elizabeth Kutz, brothers Buren Jr., Ronald, Dale, and sister Deborah. Survivors include sons Matthew and James, daughter Jessica, and his beloved boxer named BeeGee.
In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Barry's siblings Ronald, Dale, and Deborah all lived with muscular dystrophy.
