Bernice Davis Canup, 85, Holly Hill went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 03, 2017. She died peacefully at the Halifax Hospice Care Center in Ormond Beach. She was born at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach and lived most of her life in Holly Hill. She attended Mainland High School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Broughton ("Broc") Canup, and by her brothers Earl and Julian Davis. She is survived by her brother, Ed Davis, her sisters Clarice Culverhouse and Lorene Larson, and by her 3 daughters, Bunny (Ron) Wing, Karen (Stan) Puckett, and Kim (Beth) Canup; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, most of whom live in the Daytona Beach area. Mrs. Canup retired from Halifax Hospital, where she worked in the Admitting Department and Front Desk. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family. For many years she taught 4th grade Sunday school and served in many other ways through her church. A celebration of her life and homegoing will be on Saturday, October 7 at the First Baptist Church, 118 N. Palmetto Avenue, Daytona Beach with visitation at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m. and interment following at Daytona Memorial Park. To honor her memory, donations to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church, Daytona Beach or to the Halifax Hospice Care Center would be appreciated.
