Betty Jane Atkatz was born September 6

, 1940 in Elizabeth, NJ to Josephine & Robert Carlson and she passed away on September 3
rd
, 2018. She is survived by her three children; Robert Benjamin Atkatz, Barbara Ann Atkatz, and James Richard Atkatz. She was a loving and dearly beloved grandmother to Jamie Atkatz and Anthony Atkatz.
Betty was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated from Alfred University. She enjoyed a successful career in early childhood education as the owner and director of The Mountain Hill Nursery School in Middletown, NJ. She moved to Edgewater, Florida in her later years.
An avid gardener and animal lover, she enjoyed spending time outside and rescued many animals. She was also a talented painter and leaves behind an entire portfolio of her art work.
But the most important thing in her later life was that she adored her grandchildren and her animals. No conversation could go on very long without a mention of their recent accomplishments and activities. Her legacy will live on in her children and grandchildren who will always hold memories of her close to their hearts.
