Charles A. Masek, 89, of Daytona Beach Shores, passed away on June 8, 2015 at Halifax Health Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday June 20, 2015 at Spruce Creek Baptist Church, 1952 Taylor Road, Port Orange, FL. He was born on June 16, 1925 in Perth Amboy, NJ and moved to this area in 1993 from Tallahassee, FL. He served in the United States Marine Corp from Dec. 8, 1941 til the end of WWII, of which he participated in the Battle of Okinawa. He then went to school, joining the Air Force serving during Korea and Vietnam. Retiring as Master Sergeant in June 1964. He retired in 1963 from the Department of Banking and Finance of the State of Florida. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, of 66 years; two sons, Charles A. , Jr. (Marge) of Plant City, FL and Theodore D. (Julie) of Rancho Mirage, CA; sister-in-law, Barbara F. Yates; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spruce Creek Baptist Church. Condolences may be shared with the family at
