Ada Christine Cardwell Doughty, 72 years old, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 10th, 2021. Christine was born on September 4, 1948 in Daytona Beach, Florida to Glenn and Thelma Cardwell.  Christine was best known for her love of fishing, giving to others and cooking. Christine was part of the Halifax Fishing Club, SNPJ Lodge in Samsula, Grace Episcopal Church where she was a longtime member, and the Port Orange Historical Society. After graduating from Mainland High School, Christine started her career as an Administrator at Cardwell Funeral Home where she was employed for 50 years.  Christine was so much more than an Administrator, she was the Matriarch of Cardwell Funeral Home.  She WAS Cardwell Funeral Home!  She is survived by her husband of 51 years, R.E. "Eddie" Doughty; Four children, Kelly (Mike) Nelson, Robin (Tony) Cowan, Brian Doughty and Brandy (Gary) Meadows; Ten Grandchildren; her Mother, Thelma Cardwell; three sisters, Glenda Coursen, Carolyn Jennings and Barbara Kazebeer; and the many friends she made along her journey.  She was preceded in death by her Father, Glenn Cardwell.  Memorial Donations may be made in her memory to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129 or to The Edgewater Animal Shelter, 605 Mango Tree Drive, Edgewater, FL 32132.  A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday January 15, 2021 at Grace Episcopal Church, 4110 South Ridgewood Avenue, Port Orange, FL 32127.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions the Funeral Service will be private.  A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30am on Monday January 18, 2021 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, Florida 32754.  Condolences may be shared with the family here on our online website.
