Christopher M. Haider passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Emory L. Bennett Veteran's Nursing Home.  He was born in Columbus, OH.  He served in the United States Army and did one tour in Vietnam.  Upon separating from the military, he moved to Youngstown, OH, where he met his late wife, Trudy Haider.  Together they decided to relocate to Florida and they made their forever home in New Smyrna Beach.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many.  He leaves behind two sons, Timothy (Annette) Morgan and Troy (Shelley) Morgan of Port Orange, FL.  He also leaves one granddaughter, Nicole Morgan of Palm Harbor, FL; two great grandsons, Miles Davis and Roman Davis..

Chris loved Jesus, his family and his dogs.  He enjoyed the outdoors, reading, music, action movies and cruising the oceans.  He also served the community for years as an Information Technology Systems Analyst at Halifax Hospital where he later earned his Master's Degree in Information Technology Business Management.  He was also a firearm instructor for many years in Youngstown, OH.  He was a lifelong member of the NRA and VFW.  

Funeral services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emory L. Bennett Veteran's Nursing Home.
