My family has been given the unbearable and unfortunate task of trying to compose an obituary for our father and husband, Clifford Eugene Estes. I've tried for days to come up with an acceptable summary of his life. However, each try was unsuccessful as there is no way to simply close my dad's life in a few sentences. So I will interpret and integrate all of my mothers stories and my older brothers experiences and mine and hopefully give everyone an idea of who my dad was and is. Clifford Eugene Estes, was born on November 26th 1936 and died on May 6th 2016. He was our best friend and a loving husband to my mother for 59 years. He was born in a small railroad town of Kings Mountain, KY. Clifford joined the Air Force after graduating high school and completed his four years. He met our mother, Maurine C. Estes in 1956 and they married in 1957. Clifford completed his Masters of Arts in Education in 1967. He was part of the Phi Beta Kappa, Kiwanis Club, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, North and Central Brevard County Area Superintendent. He was commissioned by Mr. Ford, Kentucky's governor, as being a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Maurine C. Estes, three sons; Jeffrey W. Estes (Ivonne Estes), Timothy L. Estes (Cali Estes) and Gregory D. Estes (Nicole Estes), three grandchildren; Nicholas M. Estes, Raechel D. Estes, Jack Estes, and his sister, Alene Foley among other extended but close family. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you spend time enjoying classic cars, drinking coffee and help support your local public schools.
