IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Constance E.
Cirone
March 5, 1920 – November 16, 2022
Constance Eleanor Marino Cirone
3/5/1920 – 11/16/2022
Constance Eleanor Marino Cirone passed away on Wednesday November 16, 2022 at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach Florida. She was born in North Adams Massachusetts on Friday March 5, 1920 to Michele (Mike) and Congettina Maria (Mary) Partenope Marino. Connie, as she was known to all, attended Freeman Grammar School, which was across the street from her home, Drury High School, graduating in the class of 1938, and finally an associate's degree from Bliss Business College. She passed the Civil Service examination in 1942 and was employed for 35 years by the state of Massachusetts Welfare Department in North Adams. She retired in 1977.
On November 26, 1956 she married Joseph John Cirone at St. Anthony of Padua Church in North Adams. Connie and Joe had a home on Willow Cove at Cheshire Lake for many years where they hosted weekly picnics for their many family members, friends and neighbors. They moved to Port Orange in August of 1981. They quickly made many new friends in Tanglewood Estates and later in Laurelwood Estates. Connie and Joe loved entertaining and continued to host weekly dominos and card parties, and their famous Super Bowl party every year. Seasonal visitors from up north enjoyed their stays during the winter at the Cirone residence. Connie and Joe were very active in Our Lady of Hope Church, Sons of Italy, American Italian Club, Port Orange Travel Club, Sociable Seniors, and both Tanglewood and Laurelwood Associations. Connie was a volunteer worker for the Alzheimer, Cancer and Heart Associations. She also volunteered at the local blood bank. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Connie was the matriarch of the Partenope family since 2006. She was predeceased by her husband Joe, her parents, her brother Joseph Carlo Marino of North Adams, and her sister Rose Vincenta Marino Clarke of Cheshire. She leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins across the USA.
The family would like to thank Connie's caregiver Arlene Duprey for her care and the great meals she made. We also thank Connie's primary caregiver of 6 years, Susan, for her love, devotion, and above and beyond daily care and especially taking Connie into her home during several hurricanes and staying round the clock with Connie in her times of need.
A Requiem mass for Constance E. Cirone will be held at 8:30 am on Thursday December 15, 2022 at Our Lady of Hope Church, 4675 South Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange. The family will share love and memories following the mass.
Burial will be in the spring in the Cirone plot at Southview Cemetery, North Adams, Massachusetts.
