Dale Richard Speakman, 77, of Port Orange, Florida passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023, after a  heroic, courageous and hard fought 4 year battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was born on December 3, 1945 in Johnson City, New York.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Gail C. Speakman.  He is also survived by his sisters Sally Speakman (Fred Fuchs); Helen Edmunds (Scott); and Nancy Shaw (Jim): brothers, Daniel Speakman (Colleen); and Barry Speakman (Diana); as well as nieces and nephews: Emily Fuchs; Bailey Shaw (Rob Kindred); Daniel Solomon (Aubrey White); Dustin Shaw; Colin Speakman (Gretchen); Brian Edmunds (Tara); Heather Edmondson (Ryan); Steven Edmunds; great nieces and nephews; and countless cousins, friends and acquaintances.

He was an avid golfer and boater and loved his dogs Dutchess and MaggieMae. He was happiest when he was at their camp in Montour Falls.

Dale was proud of his service in the United States Army honorably serving during the Vietnam Conflict. Over the years he re-connected with many of his army buddies.

He was retired from Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 112 where he worked for over 30 years along side his brothers and sisters who he always held in the highest regard. He was fortunate to continue many of these friendships throughout his retired years.

Endless thanks and forever gratitude to Dr. Eric Harris and his staff at Florida Cancer Specialists Daytona Beach Center for the amazing care Dale received throughout his illness and to Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange for their compassion and kindness.

Dale was a force to be reckoned with. He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. He always looked for the best in any situation, even through his most challenging days these last four years. He was respected by those who met him and deeply loved by all. His smile was infectious and could brighten anyone's day. His passing leaves a huge void and he will be greatly missed.
