Daniel "Dan" Thompson, 67, passed away peacefully at his home on February 5, 2014. A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 2:00 P.M at Crossroads Baptist Church, 1851 South Clyde Morris Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32119. Dan served in the United States Navy for 3 years during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Ironworkers Local #37 in East Providence, Rhode Island for 40 years. He belonged to the Daytona Beach Street Rods, Rhode Island Street Rods, and the VFW Post #2 of West Warwick, Rhode Island. He loved his motorcycle, his car collection, but above all he loved his friends, family and there is nothing he would not do for anyone. Dan is preceded in death by his son, Charles Thompson. Those left to cherish Dan's memory is his wife of 48 years, Vada Thompson; daughter, Michele Langlais; sister, Judith and brother-in-law George Hilliker; his dog, Max and many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan's name to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange FL 32129.
