David John Geiger, 72, of Ormond Beach, passed away on Sunday December 28, 2014 at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, FL. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday January 8, 2015 in the Chapel at Cardwell Baggett & Summers Funeral Home. He was born on May 29, 1942 in Syracuse, NY and was adopted by the late John Theodore and Mildred Geiger. He was raised in Yorktown Heights, NY. David proudly served his country in the US Navy serving during the Vietnam era and then graduated from SMU with a Bachelors in Industrial Engineering. He retired as a Micro-Electronics Engineer and moved to this area with his family in 2009 from Millersville, MD. He currently was employed part-time for Publix Supermarkets in Ormond by the Sea. He enjoyed Nascar, football, cooking and golfing. David will be remembered mostly for his great sense of humor, his kind heart and his generosity to others. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sophia; two sons, David Allan Geiger of Dublin, CA and Matthew James (Kimberly) Geiger of Watertown, CT; Daughter, Deborah Lynn (Frank) White of Port Orange, FL; Two brothers, Reverend Clifford T. Geiger of Stuart, FL and Tom Hudson of Tallahassee, FL; Two sisters, Mary Halasz of TX and Ann Randozzo of Rochester, NY; and Three grandchildren, Cassidy, Kira and Danyale.
