Denise "Louise" Shirley, 84, left us to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2014. She was born in Red Bay, Alabama on August 10, 1929 to John & Lessie Glasssgow. Louise lived most of her life in Memphis, Tennessee, but spent her last 25 years settled in Ormond Beach. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Vernon Shirley, her five children: Larry (Connie), Tony (Cathy), Deborah (Michael), Kathy, and Chris (Carissa). She also leaves ten grandchildren and one great grandson. Louise made many long lasting friends in her lifetime who also mourn her passing, but rejoice with us that she is in peace. The family would like to give special thanks to the Bridgeview Center staff. Especially the Caring Way Unit, for the care, love, and support they gave so freely to our "Mamma Doo". This Easter we "Celebrate the Life" of Denise Louise Shirley and a private service will be held by her family. In lieu of flowers, please give to the charity of your choice in her memory. She loved life, family, meeting new people, animals of all kinds, going out to eat, flea markets, her beautiful home, and the view of the river. We miss her deeply, but know she is in our hearts forever.
