Diane Rita Girouard, 84, of Port Orange, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2014at Halifax Hospice Center in Port Orange after a brief illness. She was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on September 26, 1930 to Albert and Yvonne Lariviere. Diane relocated to Port Orange, Florida in 1982 and she was employed and retired from Humana Corporation. After retirement she chose to continue working and was employed for several years at the Daytona Beach Poker Room, first as a poker dealer and ending her career as a floor supervisor. She loved all sports, especially all teams from New England, reading, and spending time with her family. Predeceased in death is her husband, Armand J. Girouard, New Bedford, Ma, and son, Paul Girouard, Port Orange, Fl. The mother of six surviving children: Albert Girouard (Corinne), New Bedford,MA, Robert Girouard, Lisa Benson, David Girouard, Susan Jeffries (Matthew), Renee Harmon (Jason) all from Port Orange, Fl.Diane will be sadly missed by her grandchildren: Tara and Alan Baptiste, David White DiGregorio, Matthew and Derek Jeffries, Michael Tyler Calhoun, Casey Bell and her four newly great grandbabies: Axel, Alice, Patrick, and Lilia. She will be missed by several nieces and nephews from New Bedford and Florida. A private service will be held at a later date.
