Don J. Jones

Don Jones, age 89, of Daytona Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on October 8th, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Don was born January 3,1937 in Quantico, Virginia. The favorite parts of his childhood were spent on the family farm in Wray Colorado.

After graduating high school in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Don joined the United States Marine Corps. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving over 16 years and attaining the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

In 1977, Don married Elaine Wells and raised their daughter, Marci Kay in Daytona Beach. Elaine predeceased Don in 2014.

After military service, Don worked for many years as head of maintenance for several prominent beachside resorts.

In retirement, Don loved working in his yard, riding his motorcycle, and taking family and friends shooting.

Don is survived by his daughter, Marci Kay, her husband, David Cornwell and grandson, Logan. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandfather.  Don will be greatly missed.
