Donald V. Black , 88, of South Daytona, Florida, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 1, 2022 due to complications of Alzheimer's disease.
Donald is predeceased by his parents Ralph Sr. and Edna Black along with siblings Ralph Jr. Black, Loyde Black, Floyd Black, Clyde Black, John Black and Annabelle Franklin. Survived by his wife Laura and four daughters, Elizabeth Stepp, Jacksonville, FL., Linda Smith Chicago, ILL., Lisa McNamee Long Island, NY., and Teresa Graves South Daytona, FL., along with grand daughter Lola Graves.
Donald was born in Lakehurst, NJ., February 13, 1934. Joined the Army in 1956 severed through 1962. Durning his service to his country he was in the armor division and personal driver for the company commander at Fort Stewart, GA. Upon discharge moved to New Smyrna, FL. where he started his career as a journeyman electrician with IBEW Local Union 756. Durning his career he worked at Cape Canaveral, FL., where he met his wife Laura and was a part of the construction of Disney World. Donald was avid golfer, fisherman and Miami Dolphins fan. Retired at the age of 62.
Funeral service to be handled with Cardwell Funeral Home in South Daytona, Fl. And final resting place at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
