Dorothy Budington Collins, 89, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2013. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday March 8, 2013 at 11:00 A.M at Cardwell Funeral Home, 3571 S. Ridgewood Ave Port Orange, FL. Dorothy was born in Daytona Beach, Florida on December 9, 1923. She graduated from Mainland High School and she also attended St. Luke's School of Nursing in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, former member and past president of the Business Professional Women's, former member and past president of the Lioness Club; she also was a volunteer for over 30 years with Halifax Hospital Auxiliary. Dorothy was the wife of the late MSgt William Collins of the United States Army, where during his duty; they lived in Germany and Japan before returning to her family home in Daytona Beach, FL when her daughters began school. She was the bookkeeper for Clayton Foundry for over twenty years and then finished her career at Burns & Wilcox where she retired at the age of 82. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda (Joe) Phillips, Dianna (Richard) Love; grandsons, Thadius Phillips, Wade Heath, and Ashley (Alisha) Heath.
