Edward "Ed" T. Curley, 87 of South Daytona Fl., passed away Friday November 30, 2018.
Mr. Curley was born on August 28, 1931 in Cohasset, Massachusetts, the son of the late Benjamin and Christine (Jacome) Curley. He graduated from South Eastern University in Washington, DC and went to work at the FBI. He was later made the Director of the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC. He and his wife moved to Florida in the 70's where he became a Councilmen, representing South Daytona for two years. He and his wife were also Ministers of the Sick and Eucharistic Ministers at Epiphany Catholic Church. Ed loved being with his family and especially taking his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews to the beach.
Mr. Curley is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Lou Curley, his sister in law and brother in law, Martha and Joseph Campbell, his niece, Linda Curley Litchfield, his nephew, James Curley and his niece, Margaret Campbell Davis. He is also survived by his cousin and his wife, Ed and Eileen Jacome and many, many great nieces and nephews. Mr. Curley was also predeceased by his sister Peggy Eaton, his two brothers Ben and Lawrence Curley and by his nephew Joe Campbell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday December 04, 2018 at Cardwell, Baggett and Summers Funeral Home, 301 Big Tree Rd., South Daytona. A Mass of Celebration will be conducted 8:30 am Wednesday, December 05, 2018 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Port Orange, Fl. Burial will be at 11:00 am at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Fl.
The family would suggest that lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson Association of Greater Daytona Beach. Condolences and Memories are welcome to be share with the family VIA this online guestbook, www.cardwellfuneral.com.
