Eleanor E. White of Daytona Beach Shores died peacefully at her home on March 22, 2014. She was 88 years old. Mrs. White was born September 29, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, where she grew up, married and raised her family. A working mother long before it was the norm, Mrs. White was a secretary in private industry, and then worked for the federal government as an administrative assistant for the last 20 years of her career. She retired to the Daytona area in 1987 and enjoyed many happy years with her husband John W. White, who died in 2006. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Doreen E. White, who died in 2012. She is survived by her son, Glenn L. White and wife Susan, her daughter Charlene D. Duroni and husband Charles; grandchildren, Michele Byers and Lance Duroni, and great-grandchildren, Connor, Rhys, Henry, Isabella, Charlotte and Charlie. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Port Orange. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 2:00 P.M in Grace Church Chapel, 4110 S. Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange, FL.
