Emily C. Schroeder, 80, passed away July 26, 2014. A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Cardwell Baggett and Summers Funeral Home, 3571 S. Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange, FL 32129. A gathering will begin at 12:00 P.M. Emily was born in 1934 to the late Archibald and Emily Todd. She liked to read, garden, and fish. Her greatest sources of pride and accomplishment were her family and her past active work in the 60's on "The War on Poverty." She was strong willed and enjoyed a good debate. She never backed down at defending her values, opinions, or beliefs. When she was able she had volunteered her time singing at nursing homes and feeding the homeless with her church. Emily was a spiritual person, enjoyed watching the birds, flowers, and she loved her family. Emily is preceded in death by her brother, Franklin Todd and sister, Millie Lundy. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Ginny(Simon) Correa, Gail Wilson, Emmy (Phyl) Lynk, John (Joanne) Wilson, Debbie (Jeff) Clark, Sandi (Murray) Finkelstein, Laura (Matt) Miller; grandchildren, Angie Correa, Paul Honegger, Brandy Barrera, Jimmy Turner, Chris Gagnon, Alyssa Clark; and 10 great-grandchildren.
