Esther Yantos, 104, of Port Orange, FL, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at Brookdale Senior Living In Port Orange, where she had resided for the last 5 years. Mrs. Yantos was born on September 2, 1919 in Middleburgh, NY, the daughter of the late Vischer and Ruth (Young) Earls. She married Joseph K. Yantos on September 7, 1943 and they celebrated over 75 years of marriage until his passing on September 11, 2018. For most of her career, she was a seamstress for several garment manufacturing facilities in the Schoharie County and Capital District area of New York State. Later she became a custodian at the former Cobleskill Central School in Cobleskill, NY, from where she retired in 1984. She resided in Cobleskill, NY for many decades. Upon retirement, she and her husband relocated to Daytona Beach Shores, FL and a few years later to Port Orange, FL. She is survived by her niece, Maryanne Busman of Woodbridge, Virginia, her nephew and his wife, Stephen and Patricia Freed of Glenville, NY, and her brother-in-law, Thomas Corsuti of Woodbridge, Virginia. She is also survived by several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Her sisters, Vivian Meade and Hilda Corsuti, predeceased her. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Cardwell, Baggett, and Summers Funeral Home, 301 Big Tree Road, South Daytona, FL. A service will immediately follow at the home, officiated by Paster Angela Newman. Burial will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
