Eugene "Gene" Everhart, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 7, 2015 at his residence in Daytona Beach surrounded by his family. A Visitation will be held from 2:00pm til 2:30pm with the Funeral Service being held at 2:30pm on Wednesday February 11, 2015 in the Chapel at Cardwell Baggett & Summers Funeral Home. Gene was born on June 25, 1930 in Canton, Ohio to the late Lester and Jessie Everhart. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. He graduated from Canton Actual Business College and attended Kent State University.Before retiring to Florida he was a Sales Representative for Ford Motor Company. Gene was a member of the American Legion and he was a volunteer fireman. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty, whom he married on September 24, 1954; Three Daughters, Sue Everhart, Diane (David) Dickson, and Traci (Terrance) Cahill; Two Grandchildren, Niki Zinz and Kayley Frost. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Everhart. The family would like to thank everyone at Gentiva Hospice who provided for his care.
