Evelyn Helen Ellis, 100, of Port Orange, Florida entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.  She was born on June 6, 1925 in Northport, New York and lived in Hudson, New York.  During WWII she served her country as a "Rosie the Riveter," working to aide the soldiers abroad.  In the countryside of upstate New York, she raised her family and worked in hospitals.  After moving to Florida for warmer weather Evelyn continued to work at the area hospitals in Volusia County, Florida.  When she was well, Evelyn crocheted and enjoyed the challenge of a crossword puzzle.  The two most important things in Evelyn's life were always her faith and her family.  She was active in the church throughout her life and raised her children to love the Lord.  She was proud of her family, their accomplishments, and cherished her memories.

Evelyn is survived by her son, David F. Ellis (wife, Lila Ellis); granddaughter, Julia Fulghum; grandson, Ricky Ellis; granddaughter, Nancy Ellis; 7 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis "Frank" Ellis; son, Kenneth Ellis; son, Michael Ellis; brother, William Baisley; and brother, John Baisley.

There will be a Memorial Service on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 2pm at First Baptist Church of Harbor Oaks located at 5730 South Ridgewood Avenue, Port Orange, Florida 32127.  Interment services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 1pm at Daytona Memorial Park, Daytona Beach, Florida.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Harbor Oaks Church or a charity of your choice.  Services have been entrusted to Cardwell, Baggett, & Summers Funeral Home, Edgewater, Florida.
