Obituary

Gail E. Laporte, 63, of South Daytona, passed away on March 10, 2016. She was born in Providence, RI on October 23, 1952 and moved to Florida in 2001. Gail graduated from the Pilgrim High School in 1970 and retired after 15 years with the Metropolitan Insurance Co. headquarters in Warwick, RI. She was member of the Church of Epiphany, Port Orange and was very active with the Girl Scouts and was a Brownie Troup Leader. Gail was a member of the Ocean State Oldies Car Club where she was their first club treasurer. Gail also was a member of the Tropical Detroit Car Club of Florida and the National ATAXIA Foundation, MDA. She loved reading mostly romance novels and attending antique car hobby, attending many shows with here husband, Richard. She loved auto racing NASCAR and world of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, NHRA and she was an avid seamstress and loved to crochet while watching Days of Our Lives soap opera. Gail is survived by her husband, Richard, father, Arthur Moreau, sister Cheryl Confreda, brother Ronald Moreau, 6 Grandkids and was predeceased by her mother, Elise and brother Michael. A Memorial Mass for Gail will be 11 AM, Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Church of Epiphany, 201 Lafayette, Port Orange. In lieu of other remembrances, the family suggests donation by made to MDA.
