Gary Lynn Boone, 67, of Rocky Mount, Virginia, was promoted to his heavenly home on June 17, 2024, in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was at peace with the Lord.
Gary attended Franklin County High School, playing the position of safety on its JV football team. Later he moved to Florida, where he attended Daytona Beach College. He was the owner and operator of TNT Cycle Rentals, a beach rental amusement company.
He was a loving and adventurous soul who never met a stranger he could not talk to, nor touched an electronic that he could not fix. He found joy in laughter, fun, and spending time with his family — his children and grandchildren were a source of immense pride and happiness. Gary had a skill for "creatively" fixing things and enjoyed tinkering on repair projects in his spare time. He had begun gardening and cherished his tomato plants.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline Robinson; his sister, Melanie Heisey; his daughter, Sharona Brickey (Henry) of Roanoke, VA, and his son, Jonathan Boone (Amanda) of Wirtz, VA; his grandchildren Michael Richardson, David Richardson, and Madilyn Boone; as well as his special friends, Ruth Boone Collins and Carole Leone. Gary is preceded in death by his adored grandmother, Kathleen Hamblett, and his father, Ezra Boone.
Gary had many friends and acquaintances, too numerous to mention.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held for family in the Rocky Mount area, with details forthcoming.
Additionally, a celebration of his life for friends in the Daytona area will take place at a later date.

Gary will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His memory, the knowledge he shared, and the humor he was so quick with shall live on in the hearts of those he touched.
