Obituary

George E. Hosford, 78, of Port Orange, Florida, one of the greatest house painters, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, May 19, 2017. He passed away in the company of Marilyn Brick, Hosford and his loving companion and dog, Buddy, in the comfort of his own home. He was born in Bethel, Connecticut to the late John and Marion Hosford. George was an active member of All Saint's Lutheran Church in Port Orange and was a member of the choir. He attended Henry Abbott Technical College under his father's request. He graduated and received his certificate from there. His lifetime dream was to be a house painter. He joyfully painted many movie stars' homes: Paul Newman, Bette Davis, and Gene Tierney, to name a few. He loved classic cars and any sports car for that matter. He was a member of the Daytona Beach Street Rods and frequented many classic car shows. George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His smile could light up a room. He will be missed by his friend Marilyn who later became his wife for the last 2 years. He is survived by his twin brother, John, (Karen), Port Orange, sons George E. II, Port Orange, Tracy Lee (Sandy), Madison, FL and grandchild Taylor Lee Hosford. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 9th, 2017 at All Saint's Lutheran Church with Pastor Stanley E. Wickett officiating. The family requests donations be made in George's memory to All Saints Lutheran Church. 751 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, FL 32127
