George Lusis, 92, of Port Orange, Florida, formally of Bristol, Connecticut passed away peacefully on January 13, 2014. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 8:30 A.M at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, FL 32129. Interment will follow at 10:00 A.M at Daytona Memorial Park with military honors. George served in the Third Division of the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He earned A Purple Heart and The Silver Star for his service. George retired from New Departure of General Motors in Bristol, CT. He was a member of the Marine Corps League of Port Orange and was recently honored as the oldest Marine in the Port Orange League. George is preceded in death by his brothers, Bernard and Joseph Lusis. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Lusis; son, Jeff Lusis; grandchildren, John and Al Lusis, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George's name to a charity or organization of your choosing.
