James V. Nelson, 70, of Edgewater, died Monday, December 15, 2014 with his beloved Eileen at his side. Jim was an avid tennis player and instructor and an accomplished musician. Through his love of tennis and music he brought happiness to many. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church of New Smyrna Beach, 509 Magnolia St., New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 with Pastor David Kcazirian officiating. He is survived by his lifetime partner, Eileen Brant of Edgewater; son, James M. Nelson of Port Orange; daughter, J'nine Perkowski of Michigan; brother, Ernest Nelson of Port Orange; and two granddaughters, Rachel Hiller and Ariel Perkowski. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Hiller.
