JAMES MICHAEL PRIVETT (1949-2012) Loving husband and caring father dies at the age of 63. A Funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, November 02, 2012 in the Chapel of Baggett and Summers Funeral Home, 736 South Beach Street, Daytona Beach, Florida. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to services. James is survived by his wife Catherine Privett, sons; Stefan, Michael and Jeff as well as five grandchildren. A true patriot, James served his country while enlisted in the US Navy from 1969 to 1973. As a Florida native and Business graduate of Florida Southern College, the primary focus of his life was dedicated to environmental preservation. James spent the early part of his working life managing the family orange grove and developing a fresh fruit packing and shipping business. Always active in local politics, he became the President of Citizens for Ormond Beach (CFOB), a civic activist group, and was subsequently elected to serve on the Ormond Beach City Commission. The latter part of his life was focused on Medical Sonography until early retirement. James was an immense lover of nature and while searching worldwide for GEO caches, he enjoyed adventuring into the wilderness he fought to conserve.
