James W. Sim, 84, passed away at his home on July 27, 2013. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 8:30 A.M at Our Lady of Hope, 4675 S Clyde Morris Blvd Port Orange, FL 32129. Visitation will be held the night before on Tuesday, July 31, 2013 from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange, FL. James served in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He relocated from New Jersey and settled in the Port Orange area in the 1990's. James was a foster parent to many children throughout the years. James loved to go bowling, playing golf, complete crossword puzzles, and enjoyed watching sports; including wrestling and his favorite wrestler was Mickie James. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and kind heart. He was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine Sim. He will be remembered by his son, James P. Sim Jr; daughter, Sandy Sim; foster daughter, Patti (Emile) Luckie; foster sons, Roger and Steven Henderson; dearest friends, David C. Hergert, Terri Hergert; and grandson, Dylan Sim. James will also be missed by his dog, Cheyenne. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
