Lois Jean Gillis, age 87, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida, passed away on October 25, 2022. She is survived by her son Rick Gillis (Corinna), son John Gillis (Tammy), daughter Teresa Ward (Kevin), daughter Donna Schultz (Tom), seven grandchildren Lynn, Michael, Lauren, Kristin, Hayley, Cassie, Tyler, two great grandchildren Rylee and Trevor, and her brother Don Smith. She was predeceased by her husband Patrick Gillis of 60 years. Jean retired from the Social Security Office with 35 years of federal service and later worked at the International Speedway. The past few years she enjoyed playing bingo and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary Club. Jean was known for her kindness and her strength. She always strived for an impeccable appearance taking pleasure in her weekly hair appointments, getting her nails done and never going a day without lipstick! Jean always saw the best in everyone especially her children. Her family was her greatest accomplishment. The family will receive friends Friday, November 4th at 2pm with the service following from 3-4 at the Cardwell Funeral Home, 301 Big Tree Rd., South Daytona, Florida 32119
