Jesse R. Wilcox Jr. of Ledyard , 87, passed on February 2, 2022 in Daytona Beach near his winter residence in Port Orange FL . Born o n Jul y 16, 1934 , in Norwich CT to Jesse R. Wilcox Sr. and Ida Mary C r ouch Wilcox , "Ranny ," as he was known to family members, lived most of his life in the Shewville section of Ledyard CT. He attended Ledyard elementary schools and graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1953 . He served in the US Army at Ft. Belvoir, VA, 1957-1959. While working at The Thermos in Norwich, he met Margaret "Susie" Ashley ; t hey were married from 1959 until her passing in 1998 . Jesse worked for 38 years at Plastic Wire Cable in Jewett City . At his Shewville home he kept very busy with gardens , tractors, and all sorts of amazing mechanical projects. He leaves behind his son, James C. Wilcox of Tyler Texas , grandson Casey Wilcox of Port Orange FL, granddaughter Ashlea g h Wilcox of Arp, Texas , and her children Hayden and Harper . In addition to his parents and wife, Jesse is predeceased by his sister , Esther Wilcox Harwood.

No services have been planned at this time. Private interment will be in Lambtown Cemetery , Ledyard, CT. Donations in his memory may be made to The Lambtown Cemetery Association or The American Cancer Society .
