Joanne Brill Gray went to heaven on July 5, 2023 with her family at her side. She
was born in Pennsylvania in 1930, attended Grove City College and became a
secretary at American Window Glass Company. She married George Gray in 1955
and they moved to Daytona Beach in 1957. They built a house in 1962 and raised 3
daughters.
She was a legal secretary in Florida for many years, her final job at Tomoka Land
Company. She retired in 1995 and toured with friends on several bus tours.. Her
favorite trips included the Rose Parade in California, Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta,
and a few National Parks in the west. She also enjoyed a riverboat cruise on the
Mississippi River with her daughters.
Her favorite hobby was cross-stitching, stitching many pictures and afghans for
family and friends. She also enjoyed miniature doll houses and caring for her
plants.
She is survived by her 3 daughters Nancy Gray Desrochers (Chris), Susan Gray
Clippinger (David), Lynne Gray (Joe).
A celebration of life service will be on August 4, 2023 at 11 am at Cardwell,
Baggett, Summers Funeral Home, 301 Big Tree Rd, South Daytona. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Advent Health Hospice Care (60
Memorial Medical Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32164) or the Halifax Humane
Society (2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32124). We miss you mom, rest in
peace.
