John William Carey, 58, of Daytona Beach, Florida passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023.  He was born on March 19, 1965 in Daytona Beach, Florida and served his community as a fireman and first responder for 21 years with the Ormond Beach Fire Department.  He was a driver/engineer and quickly became Captain and Fire Chief.  Later, John took over the family business, Carey Plumbing.  In John's non-working hours he enjoyed being outdoors, spending time fishing and hunting.

John is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Carey (partner, Jake Rice); daughter, Victoria Carey; sister, Bonnie Weiler Peterson (husband, Thomas Peterson); grandson, Elliot Rice; aunt Anderina and uncle John Carey; fur baby, Bear; and several other family and close friends.

To celebrate John's life there will be a Memorial Service on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 4PM at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange located at 1201 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, Florida 32127.
