John Ronald Delia, Sr., 73, of Daytona Beach, formerly of Syracuse, NY, passed away Saturday March 6, 2020. He was born November 18, 1946 in Syracuse, NY, the son of the late John and Mary (Sgroi) Delia.
John graduated from Assumption High School and while still a student he worked with his brother Frank in the hard wood floor business. He entered the Army serving in Vietnam. Upon returning from the military he started working with his brother Frank in the family business, Delia & Smith Beverage Company. Later in his career he started Delia Paints, with son Christopher and wife Adele, where he worked until retirement. Although he and Adele had divorced, throughout the years they had a cherished and loving relationship.
He is survived by his children, John Ronald Delia, Jr. (Morgan Noble), Christopher Andrew Delia, Joseph Anthony King (Amy) and Julie Anne Amara (Chad), his grandchildren, Derek, Thomas, Delia, Anthony, Sophia, Angelo, Jalyn, Wyatt and West.
The family will receive friends Tuesday March 10, 2020 (today) from 6:00-8:00 pm at Cardwell, Baggett and Summers Funeral Home, 301 Big Tree Rd, South Daytona. A mass of resurrection will be conducted 8:30 AM Wednesday March 11, 2020 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Port Orange.
Burial will be at a later date
