John Wynn Woods, 64, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2014. A gathering will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 2:00 P.M to 4:00 P.M, followed by a memorial service at 4 P.M., both at Cardwell, Baggett and Summers Funeral Home, 3571 S. Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange, FL 32129. John was a high school teacher for 30 years in Atlanta, Georgia, primarily at Parkview High School. He received his Bachelor's degree from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama and earned his Master's and Specialist's degrees from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He enjoyed golf and travel, especially cruises in the Caribbean and in Europe. John was a member of Delta Tau Delta in his college years, a member of the Pelican Bay Country Club, and a resident of Harbour Village in Ponce Inlet. John is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Frances Woods, and brother, Lloyd Lanier Woods, Jr. Those left to cherish John's memory are his wife of 43 years, Carol, his son, Kevin Woods, and daughter-in-law, Angela Roles.
