Obituary

Age 89, of Port Orange, FL, passed away on January 25, 2024
After a long and grateful life with a loving wife of 68 years, and four wonderful children, he felt his life was meaningful and complete.
Joe served two years in the U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Albany Heavy Cruiser during the Korean War era.  He came home to marry his High School sweetheart, Jean Caroline Rearick in 1955.
He was employed by PNC Bank in Pittsburgh for the next 39 years, and retired in 1993. Joe's career began as a computer operator/programmer and eventually advanced to Computer Department Manager.  He then progressed to Manager in the System & Programming Department, and Manager of Correspondent Banking Systems.   Joe's final assignment was to manage a sales and marketing team to develop the largest ATM network in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.  His team built a 500+ ATM network, involving 85+ financial institutions, that was the start of the ATM network services.
Joe's other hobbies included taking walks while holding hands with his wife Jean, his passion for golf and helping various churches with their bingo programs.
Joe leaves behind his sweetheart Jean, four wonderful children, Joseph G. Hochdoerfer (Sally), Janie L. Chraska (Leo), Judith L. Hochdoerfer (Khalil), and Jill R. Wagner (Glen), two loving  sisters, Helen Walla, Mary Sansonetti, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Joe was a devout catholic who wants to thank God for a wonderful life!
