Mom definitely earned her Angel Wings from her lifetime on this Earth.
She was a devout Catholic, having been a lifetime member of St. Joseph Church in Endicott prior to moving to Florida in 1976, and consequently, she and our father were founding members of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She loved her church and spent many years taking care of the altar linens, and she so enjoyed the coffee hour after Sunday Mass, visiting with the many friends she made over the years. In her later declining years, listening to the Holy Rosary, the Daily Mass, The Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and Mother Angelica on the EWTN network, was of great comfort to her.
Mom was an avid and accomplished cook and baker, and she was most proud that all of her children followed in her footsteps. There was never a meal that any of us prepared that she did not profusely compliment, at the same time taking full credit for our culinary skills. But she was right! She did instill the love of cooking in all of us, and how mealtime brings us all together. We often said "you can take Mom out of Endicott, but you can't take Endicott out of Mom!" She never lost touch with childhood friends from "the hill" on the Northside of Endicott, where she was born and raised in the home that once stood where St. Anthony of Padua Church now sets up extensive tents for their annual Field Days.
Mom was loved by so many people. She was sweet and kind, and will be missed beyond words.
Arrangements are being handled by Cardwell, Baggett & Summers Funeral Home, however there will be no calling hours. Her funeral mass is scheduled for April 26, 2019, 8:30 A.M., Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL, 32129, with a reception to follow.
If you so wish, we are asking that in lieu of flowers, a donation to Halifax Health-Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129, would help to carry on their Mission Statement, "To provide extraordinary, compassionate and professional end-of-life care."
"S PANOM BOHOM" Mom.
We love you.
