Judith Allen Clapp, 80 passed away on September 19, 2017 at home with her family at The Cloisters of DeLand. Born May 2, 1937 in Portsmouth, NH to Lois Hayward and Irving Hanscom. "Nurse Judi" to many, she began her career in NH at the Laconia Hospital and after 43 years retired as a school nurse from Coronado Beach Elementary, NSB, FL. She was an organist and a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary at St. Luke's Anglican Church prior to moving to DeLand. She had a beautiful smile, a love of historical places, especially her beloved New England. She was an enthusiastic bowler, enjoyed crocheting, knitting and travel. Husband of 36 years, William Clapp preceded her in death in 2013. She leaves behind three children: John Chapman, Joy (Jason) Krom and James (Susan)Chapman, six grandchildren: Mandy, Eric, Jeremy, Aaron, Judi and James, and three great-grandchildren: Hayden, John Parker and Kayson. We will celebrate her life on Monday, October 16, 10:30 a.m. at The Cloisters Chapel, 400 E. Howry Ave., DeLand, FL 32724.
