Obituary
Kate Ruth Demato, 95, of Port Orange passed away quietly in her sleep on Sunday, August 26, 2018.
She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on July, 22, 1923, the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Mangodt. Kate worked in her parents bakery in Brooklyn, NY and later became a flower arranger. Eventually, Kate went into Nursing at Good Samaritan Hospital. She moved to Florida in 1989 for her retirement.
Kate was the wife of the late Raymond Demate, Sr who passed in August of 1983.
She is survived by her three children; Richard Demato, Raymond and Paulette Demato and Arlene and Richard Turner also by her daughter-in-law Virginia Demato; 9 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandson.
A local memorial service will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 724 Big Tree Rd. South Daytona, FL.
A graveside service and burial will be conducted 10 am, Friday, 31, 2018 at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton NY.
