Leonardo "Lenny" Ancona, 73 of Port Orange, Owner and Administrator of Harbor Oaks Elderly Care Home since 1984, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday May 5, 2013.
A visitation will be held on Thursday May 9, 2013 at Cardwell Funeral Home between the hours of 9:00 A.M ~ 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at Epiphany Catholic Church beginning at 11:00 A.M.
Lenny will be laid to rest at St. John's Cemetery in Queens, New York on Saturday May 11, 2013.
Leonardo was born in Roccamena, Sicily on December 8, 1939 to the late Leonarda and Vincenzo Ancona. Leonardo immigrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1957 and was employed for over 25 years as an auto mechanic for a Mercedes Benz truck dealership.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 53 years Ida Ancona; his three children, Vincent Ancona of Port Orange, Dr. Peter (Yolanda) Ancona, of Orlando, and Leonard (Susan) Ancona Jr., of Port Orange; his beloved granddaughter Tanina Ancona; grandsons, Joseph ancona, Joseph Roberts, Giovanni Ancona, and Matteo Ancona; siblings, sister Concetta (Salvatore) Moscarelli, of Beechurst, New York; brother, Jack (Rose) Ancona, of Howard Beach, New York; many nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation for Research, or Epiphany Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Cardwell Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared with the family at .
