Margaret "Maggie" Asbury Clowney, 85, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2014. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1:30 P.M at Cardwell Funeral Home, 3571 S. Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange, FL 32129. Visitation will begin at 11:30 A.M. Margaret was born in Maxwell, Virginia in 1928. She taught preschool in Virginia for a number of years and a member of the Eastern Star in Richlands, Virginia. In 1959 she relocated with her family to Daytona Beach where she opened Asbury-Sylva Dawn Motor Court. Margaret was a past president of Highway 1 Association of Daytona Beach, was a member and sang in the choir at Central Baptist Church of Daytona Beach. She also participated in the choir at First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Jess Asbury, who passed in 1993, and Bill Clowney, who passed in 2006. Those left to cherish Margaret's memory are her children, Clint (Terry) Asbury, Anne Asbury (Michael) Mathews; brother, Bill Cooley; sister, Geri Brightbill; grandchildren, Shannon, Ali, and Reece Asbury.
