Obituary

Margaret Rose Murphy of Daytona Beach FL passed away of natural causes on Monday, December 10, 2012 while visiting her daughter in Columbia Falls, Montana. She was 82.
Born Margaret Rose Costello to John and Mary Florence Costello in Utica, NY, she was the youngest of 7 children. The family owned the Lincoln Laundry in Utica. She attended Blessed Sacrament grammar school, was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy and Marywood College. While at Marywood, she met her future husband, John (Jack) Murphy who attended Scranton University. Margaret and Jack returned to Utica and raised eight children. The family were members of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and the elder children attended Utica Catholic Academy and Notre Dame High School. Margaret is now in heaven with her husband Jack, son Brian, grandson Stephen and sisters Jane and Ann and brothers John, Robert Michael and James. A devout Catholic, Margaret is considered a saint for her devotion to raising her children, Kathleen Myerowitz of Columbia Falls, MT and David, John Murphy of Baltimore, MD and John, Maria Nolan of Strongsville, OH and Douglas, Michele Murphy of Columbus, OH and Pamela, Mark Murphy of Chagrin Falls, OH, James Murphy of West Hollywood, CA and Margaret Baranowski of Rochester, MI and Michael, who will miss her terribly! She loved spending time with her grandchildren Michael, Mark and Megan Murphy, Jacqueline, Rachel and Kaitlyn Nolan and Ryan and Daniel Baranowski. She will be missed by her sister and winter companion Mary (Costello) Karl of Utica, NY. Calling hours will be held Monday December 17th from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M at Cardwell Funeral Home, 3571 South Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange, FL 32129. A Roman Catholic Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M on Tuesday December 18th at Church of the Epiphany, 201 Lafayette St., Port Orange, FL 32127. Interment will follow Mass at Woodland Cemetery, 399 Orange Ave., Port Orange 32114. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Margaret's name to Catholic Charities or Epiphany Catholic Church.
