Margaret "Peggy" Rideout Flatt Garris, 71, of Port Orange, FL, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12th at 1:00 pm at Cardwell, Baggett-Summers Funeral Home, 3571 Ridgewood Ave.. Port Orange. The family will receive one hour prior to services. Peggy was born in Wilmington, N. Carolina on October 7, 1943 to Mary Wall and Clarence P. Rideout. She had a successful career with AT&T and retired after 30 years. Peggy enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends and spent many hours finding the perfect kitchen gadget for herself and others from QVC. Most of all she loved being with, having fun with, and caring for her family. She is survived by her husband, Ronald "Ron" Garris, Port Orange, her children, David Flatt, preceded in death by Mark Flatt, siblings Mary "Dede" Flatt, C.P. "Happy" Rideout, two grandchildren, Logan and Skylar Flatt, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Peggy's memory to Arni Foundation Animal Shelter. Condolences may be shared with the family through this online guestbook.
