On April 12, 2014, Mari E. Wright peacefully passed away at the Port Orange Nursing and Rehab Center, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Memorial service will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11:00 A.M at the Family Worship Center, 4425 South Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange, FL 32127 with the Rev. Tom and Ray Dubois officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Mari was born on July 18, 1936, in Mansfield, Ohio, and moved to South Daytona in 1968 from Columbus, Ohio. She was a homemaker and held various jobs throughout her life, including that of server, bookkeeper, sales associate and real estate agent. Mari loved animals and children and in later years ran a personal daycare out of her home. She was a member of the Family Worship Center and a former member of the First Baptist Church of South Daytona. A devout Christian, Mari had a deep inner strength that she passed on to all who knew her. Mari was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Jerry G. Wright and her parents, Otis and Elverta Jones. She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Lori) Wright, Steven L. Wright and his fiance Janet Wrucke, grandchildren, Katelynd Wright, Logan Wright, Ian Wright and Juliana Wright; great-granddaughter Lyla Finken, as well as many other relatives and friends.
