Marilyn Hampton Holmes, 80, of Port Orange, passed away on April 7, 2015 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach, FL. She was born on February 1, 1935 in Chester, Maryland to the late Kenley Tilghman and Mary Evelyn Hampton. A Homemaker she was very active in the Anne Arundel County Fair Board. She moved to Port Orange, FL on October 7, 2000 with her husband from Millersville, MD. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Edward Abbot Holmes; Four Children, Edward Grimes of Stevensville, MD, Vivian Merritt of Dundalk, MD, Rebecca Grimes of St. Michaels, MD and Elizabeth Butler of Preston, MD; Five Siblings, Richard Labrie of Queenstown, MD, Kenley "Sonny" Hampton of Centerville, MD, Albert Hampton of Centerville, MD, Beatrice Dust of Hurlock, MD and Mary Hampton of Chester, MD; Eight Grandchildren; Fifteen Great Grandchildren; One Great- Great Grandson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles "Bunky" Grimes and her brothers, William "Bobo" Hampton and H. Elwood Labrie. The family will be having a private service.
