Marjorie Christine Makinney, 66, of Port Orange, passed away on Friday September 2, 2016 at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. She was born on May 1, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Hobart and Marjorie Niday. She retired as an Elementary teacher in Illinois after 33 years. Marjorie moved to this area 3 years ago from Illinois after she retired. She enjoyed reading and flower arranging.
Survivors include her two children, Christine Makinney of Oaklawn, IL and Blair Makinney of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Justine Rinaldi of Port Orange and Debra Carver of Port Orange; two grandchildren, McKenzie Blair and Elizabeth Gael Makinney and her fiance, Rick Costa.
