Obituary

Paul D. Allen of South Daytona passed away unexpectedly on March 31 st at the age of 57. Paul was born in Ft. Walton Beach , Florida but spent the entirety of his childhood as an Army brat in locations around the world. After graduating high school in Kaiserslautern, West Germany Paul followed his father and sister into the US Army. He served proudly in Alaska and with the 82 nd Airborne Division in North Carolina. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Germany to live and work in both the travel and entertainment industries.

Paul, though beloved by many, never married. He is survived by his sister Melody (Sam) McBeth of Scotland, PA and brother Donald Allen of Hopewell, VA. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Sean (Michelle) McBeth, Tammy (Michael) Armstrong, CJ (Melanie) Allen, and GySgt Tessa (Elizabeth) Allen. His parents , MSG Clifford Allen, USA (Ret.) and Patricia Allen predeceased him.

Paul's massive stroke in 2002 left him permanently disabled , with severe dysphasia , and eventually led to his early death. He will be well remembered by his neighbors and friends at Good Times for his favoritism to Bud Light and the Dallas Cowboys, as well as his staunch pride in having jumped out of perfectly good airplanes for a living. His inner circle of friends from the KTown class of '83 are heartbroken over the loss of USA's Hot Dog .

A memorial gathering will be held at 3 PM Saturday, April 8 th at Good Times Sports Pub, 2250 S Nova Road, South Daytona. Those who remember him are encouraged to attend. His ashes will be interred in the family plot in McGraw, NY.
