Paul Kuk

December 31, 1938 ~ September 18, 2021

Paul V. Kuk (82) died peacefully on September 19, 2021 in Palm Coast, FL after a long struggle with heart disease. He never lost his wonderful sense of humor, even in his final hours.  Paul was born in Aurora, IL on December 31, 1938.  His parents Daniel and Anna (Turtzi) Kuk emigrated from Romania to Aurora in 1913, where they met, married, and raised a family of 7 children, Paul being the youngest.  Paul often kidded that "he was the best looking boy in his 8th Grade Class at St. Michael's School, because he was the only boy in his 8th grade class."  He married the love of his life Patricia (Tuer) in 1961, and celebrated their 60th Anniversary together in February.  He worked at All-Steel for many years before re-settling in 2007 to enjoy retirement in the Sunshine State.  Paul spent a life of volunteer work as a youth football and basketball coach, Boy Scout leader, and active parishioner at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church; as food bank volunteer at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, and as reading tutor and Special Olympics coach in his retirement years. His compassion and dedication to serving others and his family made him a true role model.  He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia; his children Kathleen (Mustafa) Ozmeral, Connie (Kevin) Philpot, and Michael (Diane) Kuk; and his cherished grandchildren -- Berk and Julide Ozmeral, Carly Philpot, Casey (Evan) Cooling, and Samantha, Ian, and Hayden Kuk. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Jane Nolan and Laura Mitchell; in-laws Richard (Ellie) Hoffman, Karen (Jim) Post, Debbie (Ben) Bruce, and Nettie Hoffman; and 30 nieces and nephews.   Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Sylvia Hoaglin, Leo, John (Lavine) Kuk, and Nina (Bill) Gleason; and in-laws Tim Mitchell, Mary Ann (Roy) Caho, Sharon (Ron) Sickler, and Donna Hoffman.
